Tony Smith Foundation supports the visual arts by placing the work and legacy of the American artist and architect in dialogue with contemporary art and design. The research programs seek to advance engagement with Smith’s wide-ranging creative and intellectual pursuits by activating new perspectives, scholarship, publications, and interpretations of the artist’s transdisciplinary practice and the modernist era in which it developed.
Tony Smith Papers is the most comprehensive collection of archival materials—letters, interviews, writings, teaching documents, models, and drawings—related to the life and work of the artist. The collection is accessible by appointment.
This website is dedicated to research programs supporting the foundation's mission. Tony Smith Estate provides an online database of the artist’s work.
